Sing a Song is a new music group for young children and their families. It's a great introduction to music and singing for the pre-school child. Run by former Bristol Cathedral Music Scholar Debbie Smith, the group sits around in a circle to sing a mixture of well known rhyming, counting and action songs. The toddler group will have plenty of movement and actions, whilst the baby group will take a softer approach. Fresh from managing a music group in a different area, Debbie is keen to create a popular, fun, music group where at most sessions she will accompany the singing with her guitar. please note - no session on 9th April 08.

Aerial Photograph

I wish to sell a b/w aerial photograph taken from the East. encompassing the Ridgeway, Whitesfield Rd, Union St, Goss Lane, the Cul-de-sac of Cherry Rd and another, predominately showing the Ridgeway completed housing scheme undertaken by the local authority of the time, to the South of Goss Lane are fields, to the immediate North of Ridgeway is a footpath off of Whitefield Rd leading to what looks like a small sewage treatment works and elsewhere, further North are fields which now may be developed as Orchard Rd, Moorlands Rd, Rock Avenue etc, North again is Kinghill, Pound Lane. Silver St and surrounding fields, allotments to the east of Whitesfield rd. I am not local to Nailsea(Frome) I have done my best to identify the Geographical areas by name, taken from a Web Page map of Nailsea, I purchased this photo about 4 yrs ago privately. I would say that it dates from the late forties - fifties but it is a guess, some or all of the houses are occupied (washing on the line) it is entitled "Long Ashton R.D.C. Housing Scheme. Nailsea" it was taken by "Aerofilms Ltd" 29 Old Bond St SW1.London, the photo itself is 20 x 16ins, mounted on card, plywood backed and corner gussetted, in an Oak frame 25 x 22ins o/a, sizes are approx, is behind clear glass and all original and untouched, I dont know if this is a one off or not. but I would think this may be of interest to Nailsea as a whole because it is a genuine part of your history! or to someone living in the photographed area. Interestingly enough theres not a vehicle in sight.
