Clevedon is a quiet Victorian seaside town with pebbled beaches and glorious views across the Bristol Channel. The seafront stretches for
approximately half a mile from Salthouse Fields to the pier, and includes ornamental gardens, a Victorian bandstand, a marine lake, a bowling green,
tennis courts, amusement arcade and plenty of pubs, cafes and gift shops. In the Salthouse Fields adjoining the seafront are children’s attractions,
donkey rides, a play area, and a miniature railway.
Clevedon has one of the finest surviving fully intact, grade 1 listed Victorian pier in the country, the famous pleasure steamers, the Balmoral and Waverley make regular trips from the pier down the coast to Devon and Cornwall, and up to the new
Severn Bridge, as well as visiting many other places.
The town is next to the M5 motorway, junction 20 and has a population of around 23,000. There
are a good selection of shops, pubs and restaurants and has a certain amount of light industry, mainly in industrial estates around the town. The
nearest railway station is four miles away in the village of
